Fern Smith

Artistic Director

Fern obtained a degree in Psychology at the University of Wales and an MA in Industrial Relations at Warwick. She is co-founder of Volcano and has been a core performer, director, teacher and writer throughout.

 Fern has worked with the Charnock Company and Improbable Theatre, featured in FilmFour's version of Tony Harrison's Prometheus, John Hardwick's 33X Around The Sun and Steven Berkoff's Messiah. She has directed projects for Oxford Youth Theatre, Lyric Theatre Hammersmith and The Network. Fern is The 2009/10 Arts Council Clore Fellow for Wales. She is also a qualified practitioner in Therapeutic Massage and Craniosacral Therapy.
