Philip Ralph

Philip is a performer and writer based in Swansea. He trained at RADA and has been working professionally as an actor and performer in theatre, television and film since 1992.
Philip won the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award 2008 for his play Deep Cut, produced by Sherman Cymru, about the deaths of young recruits at a Surrey barracks. Deep Cut also won Fringe First and Herald Angel awards, toured the UK twice, was the Friday Night Play on BBC Radio 4, and a screenplay is currently in development for Michael Winterbottom's Revolution Films. He wrote Mr Nobody as a Writer on Attachment at Soho Theatre and is a regular scriptwriter on the BBC daytime soap-opera Doctors. His work with Volcano includes 1977 , i-witness, Romeo & Juliet, Moments of Madness, Hitting Funny (which he also wrote), What Am I Doing Here? and A Few Little Drops. He was nominated as best Actor for Hitting Funny by the Stage Awards for Acting Excellence at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2005. Since 2010 he has been The One-Eyed Man , in an extended experiment in performance, conversation and the here-and-now. He has recently won a Creative Wales Award to take this innovative project to the next level.
