To celebrate the arrival of Buon Appetito's shop awning and to discuss next steps towards getting more awnings in the High Street, we are having a reception with drinks and nibbles on Tuesday 10 October from 4pm.
The awning has been installed as the pilot of the Come Rain Come Shine project, which aims to bring traditional shop awnings back to the HIgh Street and to make it easier for traders to action such improvements in the future. Designers Bespoke Atelier and manufacturer Gower Sails have worked with Tyrone, the proprietor of Buon Appetito, to produce a bright and optimistic design which reflects the character of his restaurant and invokes memories of the cafes he and his wife used to run in Italy.
The reception is open to all, and will be of especial interest to traders interested in an awning for their premises, local residents and workers, planners and Council , BID representatives, Coastal staff and anyone who would like to see more awnings and improved shopfronts in the High Street. The team will talk about the project, answer questions and collect expressions of interest from other traders.
Come Rain or Come Shine is part of From the Station to the Sea, a partnership project between Coastal Housing and Volcano Theatre, funded by Arts Council of Wales.
