We aim to amplify the voices of established and emerging, diverse and disenfranchised artists alike. We intend to establish a safe environment for the regions artists to showcase their craft; engage with fellow creatives and develop their work. Situated in a relaxed, accessible, venue that supports integration and appeals to those marginalised by mainstream theatre.
We hope to continually challenge the contributors; the event itself and even the audiences we reach, to engage with each other in innovative ways, that connect Swansea's diverse communities.
Seeds not Trees
The performances you'll see at our events are not the finished article; they're raw, inventive and passionate works in progress. Hit and Run allows artists to road test their creations; hone their voice; be inspired and discover a community to nurture ideas.
Issues of the heART
We are aware of our roots within Swansea and strive to engage with the community. Each of our events will often ask our contributors to address issue based themes, relevant to the local area. We will also hold collections at our events with 100% of the proceeds going to causes and organisations at the heart of the region.
Hit and Run is co-ordinated by Luke Bailey and is supported by Volcano.
